Director of the Centre for Research in Infant Behaviour, Centre for Cognition and Neuroimaging, Brunel University

Janine Spencer, PhD is director of the Centre for Research in Infant Behaviour at Brunel University, and founded Child’s Eye View Ltd.

She conducts research into children’s media, marketing and product development, specialising in relating psychological theory to real-world applications. She has advised companies including Granada Ventures (Pocoyo), Cartoon Network (Cartoonito) and OCON (Dibo the Gift Dragon), as well as HIT Entertainment and many others. 

She writes in parenting magazines and has broadcast widely on children’s development, including a spell as a psychology specialist for Netmums.  She is on the board of Kids Industries, and has educated policymakers on children’s diet in her capacity as advisor to the Advertising Association.

Janine is currently spokesperson for LeapFrog Toys and TumbleTots, for whom she is also involved in product and television development in her capacity as child psychology expert.
