HOWARD LITTON
Senior Vice President, Managing Director, Nickelodeon UK

Howard LittonHoward Litton is responsible for all of Nickelodeon UK’s operations, including five television channels, three popular websites and a mobile TV channel spanning the network’s Nickelodeon, NickToons and Nick Jr brands.

He also oversees the UK consumer products portfolio in partnership with Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer products. Litton joined Nickelodeon in 1995 and during his tenure has helped steer the cable and satellite network from a single channel to become the multiple award-winning number 1 commercial kids’ TV network in the UK. He has played a key role in the launches of the highly acclaimed NickToons, Nick Jr and Nick Jr 2 channels plus the launch of the Nick Jr on TMF programming block (available in Freeview homes). This has culminated in the accolades of Broadcast Digital Channel of the Year for Nick Jr in 2005 and the prestigious BAFTA Children’s Channel of the Year for Nickelodeon in 2006.

A passionate supporter of investment in UK talent and production, Litton introduced the ‘Nickelodeon Pilot Scheme’ in 2005, which is unique among the UK’s children’s channels. Genie in the House, Nickelodeon’s first production to come out of the scheme, launched in 2006 to immediate ratings success.

Other creative and ratings successes overseen by Litton, include a number of BAFTA award-winning productions, including Purple and Brown (with Aardman Animation) and Nick News, the dynamic anti-bullying campaign See Something, Say Something, the high-profile healthy living campaign Nicktrition and the re-facing of Nickelodeon and Nick Jr.
